BEIJING, May 25 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Premier Li Qiang has congratulated Philip Edward Davis on his re-election as prime minister of the Bahamas.
In his message dated on Wednesday, Li said that the Bahamas is an important partner of China in the Caribbean.
Since the establishment of diplomatic relations, bilateral ties have continued to develop steadily. Practical cooperation in various fields has yielded fruitful results, and friendship between the two peoples has deepened over time, he added.
Li said that he attaches great importance to the growth of China-Bahamas relations and is ready to work with his Bahamian counterpart to enhance mutual political trust, strengthen mutually beneficial and friendly cooperation, and continuously elevate China-Bahamas relations to higher levels, so as to bring greater benefits to both peoples.
